Program

DAY 01

Arrive in Gwalior and be privately chauffeured to your heritage hotel. After a leisurely refresh, set out on an evocative excursion to the countryside of Morena. Explore the hilltop Mitawali (Mitaoli) Temple, whose circular form is believed to have inspired India’s Parliament House. Continue to Padavali Fort, where sculpted stone narrates stories of forgotten dynasties, before arriving at the extraordinary Bateshwar Group of Temples, nearly 200 sandstone shrines reclaimed from jungle silence. Return to Gwalior by dusk. Overnight stay in Gwalior

DAY 02

Begin with a guided ascent of the legendary Gwalior Fort, often described as the crown jewel of Central Indian fortresses. Visit the exquisitely tiled Man Mandir Palace, Teli ka Mandir, and the colossal Jain sculptures at Siddhanchal Parvat. In the afternoon, step into royal grandeur at Jai Vilas Palace, home to one of Asia’s grandest durbar halls. Continue to the serene tombs of Tansen and Ghaus Mohammad, where music and mysticism converge. As evening falls, stroll through Maharaj Bada, Gwalior’s historic heart, glowing under colonial-era facades. Overnight stay in Gwalior

DAY 03

At dawn, participate in a private yoga and meditation session before the monumental Jain statues of Siddhanchal, an experience both grounding and transcendent. After breakfast, depart for Chanderi, pausing at Sonagiri Jain Temples, a luminous hillscape of white marble shrines. Continue to Datia to explore the magnificent Bir Singh Palace, a masterpiece admired by Sir Edwin Lutyens himself. Arrive in Chanderi by evening. Overnight stay in Chanderi

DAY 04

Discover Chanderi’s layered history with visits to Chanderi Fort and the imposing Bada Mahal Gate, a testament to Sultanate-era urban planning. Later, journey to Pranpur, an artisanal village where master weavers, dyers, and metal craftsmen sustain centuries-old traditions. Engage personally with the creators of Chanderi silk, an encounter that reveals luxury in its purest, human form. Overnight stay in Chanderi

DAY 05

Drive to the medieval town of Orchha, dramatically poised on the Betwa River. Explore the royal complex including Jehangir Mahal, Raja Mahal, and the poetic Rai Praveen Mahal. At sunset, visit the riverside cenotaphs before witnessing the deeply atmospheric evening aarti at Ram Raja Temple, where Lord Rama is revered as a living king, an experience found nowhere else in India. Overnight stay in Orchha

DAY 06

En route to Khajuraho, stop at Dhubela to visit the Maharaja Chhatrasal Museum, offering rare insight into Bundela art, arms, and sculpture. Arrive in Khajuraho and explore the Eastern Group of Temples, where Jain and Hindu philosophies coexist in sculptural harmony. End the day with sunset at the Chaturbhuj Temple, its serene presence offering a quieter counterpoint to Khajuraho’s famed sensuality. Overnight stay in Khajuraho

DAY 07

Conclude with a guided visit to the iconic Western Group of Temples, including Kandariya Mahadeo and Lakshmana Temple, masterpieces of Chandela artistry and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey, departing with a profound understanding of Central India’s spiritual, artistic, and royal legacy.
