Program

DAY 01

Arrive in Ahmedabad, check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.

DAY 02

This morning head for a heritage walk of the old quarter of Ahmedabad. The Heritage Walk begins from the picturesque Swaminarayan Mandir in Kalupur. It ends in the most glorious architectural legacy the Jumma Masjid, covering in between the numerous polls, havelis, ornamental facades, workplaces of artisans, and several magnificent Hindu and Jain temples. Thereafter we proceed to visit the Calico Textile Museum. Afternoon visit Gandhi Ashram, Hutheesing Jain Temple, Shreyas Folk & Art Museum, and the beautiful handicraft market at Law Garden. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.

DAY 03

Day excursion visit to Pethapur. Pethapur Is renowned for its traditional craft of block printing. The town has a rich heritage in textile manufacturing, particularly in producing vibrant and intricately designed block-printed fabrics. Pethapur's artisans skillfully create patterns using wooden blocks, preserving a centuries-old craft that has gained global recognition. Later visit to Kalamkari Artisans Museum. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.

DAY 04

Today drive to Little Rann of Kutch en route and explore Modhera and Patan, The Sun Temple of Modhera, built in 1026 A.D. honors Surya with intricate carvings and a design akin to the Konark Temple. Explore Patan, known for India’s rich & ancient heritage in fine textiles. (Double Ikat) Patola from the area of Patan with its unique gem-like qualities, gorgeous colors, designs & durability. Also visit Rani-ki-Vav in Patan, constructed in the 11th century AD, which is a stepwell on the Saraswati riverbank, showcasing exquisite Maru-Gurjara architecture. Later proceed to Little Rann of Kutch. Upon arrival at Little Rann of Kutch, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Little Rann of Kutch.

DAY 05

Morning desert safari across the Little Rann of Kutch, a salt marsh, looking for wild ass and water birds. Afternoon tour of settlements and villages along the Rann of Kutch, renowned for their embroideries. Overnight stay in Little Rann of Kutch.

DAY 06

Drive to Bhuj, the capital of the captivating Kutch region. En route, visit Ajrakhpur & Bhujodi.Ajarakhpur: Ajrakhpur is a new village established by the traditional Muslim Khatri hand block printers after the earthquake that struck in 2001. This is a craft village where you will find artisans practicing traditional hand block printing in the resist technique on cotton/silk fabrics using the age-old Ajrakh prints as well as new design motifs. Visit Ismail Khatri, a master artisan who has been awarded an honorary Ph.D. Degree from De Montfort University for his knowledge of natural dye practices. Overnight stay in Bhuj.

DAY 07

Amidst the Desert land of infinite dimensions, are suspended, quaint little villages. Here you will come across master craft people exposing their traditional art, turning our masterpieces every day. Their ornaments, clothes, utensils, and everything they use – will make you feel as if you have stepped into a lifestyle museum leaving you spellbound. The traditions of needlework and textile arts are preserved by almost every community and caste in the semi-arid regions of Saurashtra and Kutch. Overnight stay in Bhuj.

DAY 08

Today we drive to Gondal. Upon arrival check-in and relax. Overnight stay in Gondal.

DAY 09

Transfer from Gondal to Ahmedabad. Upon reaching Ahmedabad explore Sanskar Kendra (City. Museum), Kite Museum & L.D.Museum of Miniature Paintings. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.

DAY 10

Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your departure flight.
