Flavors of Himachal - An Immersive Culinary Experience
Program
Upon arrival at Kangra Airport, get transferred to Palampur. Check in to your homestay and relax. The afternoon will be spent touring the tea estate, where you will gain an understanding of the process of tea production. In the evening, you'll learn the traditional wok-style method of making tea, choose your own blends, and create your tea to take home. Dinner will be a traditional regional meal served at the estate.
Start your morning with a delightful breakfast. In the afternoon, join a cooking demo focusing on Kangri Dham, a regional cuisine. You will learn how the famous curries of the region are made over woodfire. Later, enjoy a traditional seated meal served on thalis while learning about the history of Kangra cuisine and the importance of Dham. Being close to McLeod Ganj, the Tibetan influence reverberates through the valley. In the evening, learn how to make Tibetan-style momos and hand-pulled noodles for thukpa soup. Fill, fold, and then sit back and enjoy the hot steamed momos at the campfire.
Start your morning with a nature walk. Later in the afternoon, indulge in a pizza-making session—knead your own dough, learn to cook your own sauce, and discover more about the herbs grown on the property. Head to the organic greenhouse to pluck herbs, and in the evening, create your own pizzas with creative toppings. Bake your pizzas in a handmade woodfire oven. Also, learn the art of making different Indian breads at home without a traditional tandoor. Enjoy a variety of pizzas and freshly baked breads made throughout the day for a delightful dinner experience.
After breakfast, check out from your homestay. Get transferred to Kangra Airport to catch your flight for your onward journey.
